Jerry grew up in a Jewish family in Chicago, Illinois. At 19, he first heard the gospel and became a follower of Yeshua, Jesus, the Messiah. At 20, he married Edie, with whom he attended New Tribes Bible Institute. After several years in the business world, Jerry completed his BA at Northeastern Illinois University in English with a minor in teaching. The intention then was to teach as part of a mission team.

Although that did not come to fruition, the teaching certificate was part of God’s providence for a later time. Jerry did graduate work at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (now Trinity University) and graduated in 1987 with a Master of Divinity degree. From there he went to Frederick, MD to pastor an Evangelical Free Church. When a move became necessary, Jerry and his family moved to Virginia Beach, VA in 1993. Jerry took a position teaching middle school English and has just retired after a 24 year career. Jerry’s ministry experience besides vocational pastoring includes: elder; worship leader; small group leader; high school ministry; juvenile prison ministry; young adult ministry leader (along with Edie); and church business director.
