Our Leadership

Dr. Steve Curtis
Founder & International Director
Rev. Dr. Steve Curtis is the visionary founder and International Director of Timothy Two Project International. Steve’s ministry reflects a lifetime commitment to teaching and equipping leaders who will teach others about Christ around the world. Steve also serves as a teaching missionary, having trained pastors and church leaders in more than 40 nations across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and beyond. His approach intentionally bridges theological depth and cultural relevance, helping local leaders understand and communicate essential doctrines in ways that are faithful to the scriptures and acknowledge their own cultural contexts.
An experienced teacher and scholar, Steve holds multiple advanced degrees in theology, missions, and ministry, including the Master of Arts in Religion (M.A.R.), Master of Religious Education (M.R.E.), Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) in Missions, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Missiology. His formal theological education undergirds his lifelong commitment to rigorous biblical teaching and cross-cultural mission.
In addition to his ministry with Timothy Two, Steve is Extraordinary Researcher in Missiology on the Faculty of Theology at North-West University in Potchefstroom, South Africa, where he conducts and publishes original research and mentors doctoral students in theology and missions. He has authored numerous books and peer-reviewed journal articles on theology, missiology, and Christian leadership, contributing to academic and church conversations on how the global church can faithfully cultivate disciples and shepherd leaders for the 21st century.
Steve also serves in broader theological networks, focused on theological education, evangelism, and missions. He chairs the Mission and Evangelism Commission of the World Reformed Fellowship and was invited to serve as a delegate at the Fourth Lausanne Congress. His leadership reflects a passion to see the global church strengthened through sound doctrine, robust discipleship, and a multiplying model of servant leadership.
He and his wife, Rissa lived and ministered overseas for years before returning to the United States with their sons, Judson and Timothy. While Steve’s base of ministry is in North Carolina, where he serves as an elder in the local church, he continues to travel and teach internationally.
