Don Johnson

Latin America, Africa, and Asia

Dr. Don Johnson grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota in a Christian family as the youngest of four siblings. He gave his life to Jesus Christ at a young age during vacation Bible school at a nearby church.

 

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in history, psychology and secondary education, a Masters Degree in Human Resources and Counseling and a Doctorate in Educational Policy and Administration. During his career, Don spent nine years as a high school guidance counselor and teaching social studies in both Iowa and Minnesota, and an additional 31 years as a principal in several public high schools in Minnesota.

 

Don also spent three years in Dakar, Senegal, initially through Wycliffe Bible Translators and later, the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society (now WorldVenture) as the Director of Dakar Academy, a K-12 missionary school, serving all of West Africa. At the end of his career, Don served as the Interim Executive Director for the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals.

 

Don now works as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Education Administration at Bethel University, St. Paul, Minnesota. He has been active within several Evangelical Free churches in the areas of church leadership and adult Bible teaching. He and his wife, Nancy divide their time between northwest Wisconsin and the mountains of Colorado and have been married for 43 years. They have two children and three grandchildren.
