Prior to the pandemic and the military conflict in Myanmar, Steve Curtis traveled to the city of Kalaymyo, right on the border with the Chin State. He was able to work with fellow Timothy Two missionary, Van Lawma, to instruct pastors in the biblical doctrine of the church. As with so many churches in the Majority World, where the leaders have not had the opportunity to attend formal training, there was a lot of confusion about the role, purpose, and function of the local church and her pastors, elders, and deacons.
This workshop proved extremely fruitful, with the participants expressing great joy at their new understanding. They are looking forward to further Timothy Two training in the near future. Within a few days after leaving Kalaymyo, Steve received emails from several of them who wanted to share how they are already implementing our lessons in their local churches. Praise God!
